Child
drop-off and pick-up |
|
| |
The
school will not permit a child to leave with a person
other than the parent unless the parent has notified
the school in writing of the identification of such
person. Arrival time is between 8:00 am – 8:45
am and between 1:30 pm – 1:45 pm. Children arriving
late not only disturb the rest of the class, but also
find themselves missing out on some of the activities.
When dropping off or picking up your child, please sign
the sign-in, sign-out sheet and wait for the teacher
to greet your child. Children attending the morning
program need to be picked up between 11:35 AM and 11:45
AM.
In our experience it is easiest
on new children if the parents keep the good-byes
to be sweet, comforting, and short. A big hug and
kiss, and a confident “see you at lunch-time”
helps the child to adjust faster. If your child continues
to be upset 30 minutes after you leave, we will call
you. Please don’t worry – most of the
teachers are young mothers themselves and know how
you feel.

"Drop
in Lunch" |
|
| |
Children staying
for lunch on a "drop in" basis will be charged
$8 per day; this amount will be added to their monthly
tuition. Children should be picked up by 12:45 pm. Please
let the teachers know when your child(ren) will be staying
for lunch.

Sick policy
and medical emergencies |
|
| |
The school will not
admit any child who has any contagious disease including
symptoms such as fever, rash, diarrhea. You must make
other arrangements when this is the case. If your child
starts to exhibit symptoms of illness at school, we will
call you and you will need to pick up your child promptly.
In case of a medical or dental emergency, the school will
obtain emergency medical treatment without specific instructions
from you if you cannot be reached immediately or if the
injury/illness is such that there should be no delay in
getting treatment.

|
| |
|
|
| |
Medication
policy |
|
| |
If your child needs
to take medication while at school, please make sure that
the medication is in the original container. Please speak
with the class teacher and write the instructions on the
medication administration sheet.

Mr. Clifford comes
to play his guitar, sing, dance, and teach rhythm and
a bit of music theory to us. A music educator in the Bay
Area for over twenty years, Mr. Clifford has dramatically
extended our children’s musical abilities and repertoire.

Celebrations
of diversity |
|
| |
Wedgwood Preschool
encourages the appreciation of cultural diversity. We
will teach the children about the different cultures by
secular celebrations of their holidays. Please let us
know how you would like us to celebrate your traditions,
or better still, how you would like to help us celebrate
your traditions. |

Cubbies |
|
| |
Each child is assigned
a cubby for keeping a change of clothes. The clothes (there
is no need for a change of shoes) should be kept in the
cubby in a bag of some sort, and each item of clothing
should be labeled with your child’s name. |
|

|
|
| |
Work basket |
|
| |
Each child has a
designated space for keeping productions such as art projects,
academic work. Please take your child’s art home
at least once a week. For the record, some children will
have a lot of work to take home and some children will
have almost none. Please do not be distressed if your
child is in the latter group. You should feel free, of
course, to bring up your concerns with your child’s
teacher.

Extended
absences |
|
| |
We realize that sometimes
you will leave for extended holidays. You may choose either
to pay the regular tuition while you are away, or to take
a chance that your child’s place will not be taken
up by a child on the waiting list.
|
|
| |
|
|
| |
Late
charges |
|
| |
Late charges of $10
will apply if you are late by more than 5 minutes, and
$20 if you are late by more than 20 minutes, in picking
up your child. Late charges will be added to the next
month’s tuition. |

|
|

Dress |
|
| |
Please dress your
child for the weather (we will be playing outdoors even
in cooler weather – please no umbrellas!) and for
play that will include paint, water, sand, and clay. Please
leave an extra change of clothing at the school. If your
child does not have an extra set of clothes at the school
but needs one, the school will provide a set that should
be washed and returned to the school. |

any toys from home as this creates problems with sharing.

visit your child at the school at any time and without
prior notice. Parent-teacher conferences are scheduled
